Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Denzel Dumfries, and the Netherlands international full-back showed against the USA in the Round of 16 at the 2022 Qatar World Cup on Saturday why the Gunners and Spurs are so interested in him.

CMW reported last month that Arsenal are interested in signing Dumfries from Inter Milan in the January transfer window.

The Gunners are reportedly willing to pay £31 million for the 26-year-old, who can also operate as a centre-back and as a wing-back, but former Serie A and UEFA Champions League winners Inter want £35 million.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Earlier this week, 90min claimed that Tottenham are keen on Dumfries as well and have already made contact in regard to a move for him in 2023.

Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with the 26-year-old.

And for the Netherlands against the USA today, Dumfries showed why.

The Inter star was arguably the best player for the Dutch, who beat the USA 3-1 to progress to the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

Dumfries provided two assists and scored a goal.

And former Manchester City star and BBC Sport pundit was impressed.

Praise for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Denzel Dumfries

Richards said on BBC One (5:03pm, December 3, 2022): “Denzel Dumfries, I mean, what a player he is! I just thought that his whole game was brilliant, starting with the assist and it was the timing of his runs.”
