Brighton & Hove Albion star Leandro Trossard stunned Paul Robinson with his goal against Manchester City. His praise now comes amid interest from Newcastle United and Chelsea.
The Seagulls travelled to the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday eying their first ever win away to the Citizens. Brighton had only beaten Manchester City six times in their previous 29 encounters. Each of the Seagulls’ triumphs had also come on home soil.

Erling Haaland gave Brighton a mountain to climb this weekend, as well, as the Norwegian scored twice before half-time. The £51m sensation broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute and converted a penalty two minutes before the break. But Trossard gave his squad hope.

Trossard got Brighton back within a goal of Manchester City eight minutes into the second half. The £15m former Genk star registered his sixth goal of the Premier League season by drilling a low shot past Ederson from 25 yards out. Yet his effort would not prove enough.
Kevin De Bruyne restored the defending champions’ two-goal advantage with a quarter of an hour left on the clock. The Belgian nullified Trossard’s goal against the run of play with a long-range strike of his own into the top corner. But Trossard had already made his mark.

Trossard stunned Robinson with Brighton’s goal amid Newcastle’s interest
Trossard stunned Robinson, while speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra, with his goal at Manchester City for Brighton. The 27-year-old’s attempt was his sixth of the term in 11 league games so far. And it comes amid interest from St James’ Park and Stamford Bridge.
“What a goal, Brighton deserve this,” Robinson enthused. “City are sloppy in possession, Trossard cuts inside, you think he’s going across Ederson but he slams it in the near post.”

Newcastle sporting director Dan Ashworth has a keen interest in Brighton’s contract talks with Trossard, according to 90min. He is already working hard on future transfer targets on Tyneside and appreciates the value the 21-cap Belgian can maybe give Eddie Howe’s side.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter is also interested in a potential reunion with Trossard, who hit a hat-trick at Liverpool recently. The left-sided forward’s current contract is set to expire in 2023 but includes an option for Amex Stadium chiefs to extend his terms by another year.
Brighton also face European interest in Trossard as Atletico Madrid and AC Milan watched the Newcastle target this season. But the Seagulls are ready to make him their highest-paid player. Spotrac puts his wage at £42.5k-a/w while top-earner Adam Lallana is on £90k-a/w.
