Gabriel Martinelli praised his Arsenal teammates Fabio Vieira and Nuno Tavares on Instagram after they were pictured in Portugal U21 training after being snubbed of a place in Fernando Santos’s 26-man World Cup squad.
Arsenal midfielder Vieira posted ‘back home’ on his IG, as teams prepare for the world’s biggest tournament, which is set to take place in Qatar – it seems as though before Portugal’s senior side flies out to the Middle East, they have been training in Lisbon, with the U21s present.
In the comments section of Vieira’s IG post, Brazil’s World Cup star Martinelli posted ‘what a duo’ to which Vieira responded ‘without a doubt’.

ARSENAL PLAYERS LOOKING TO COOK AT THE WORLD CUP
With Arsenal sitting at the top of the Premier League table and producing their best football in well over a decade, it has also seen a number of their players being selected for World Cup duty.
The two Gabriels – Martinelli and Jesus – will be looking to cook in the colours of Brazil, who are the favourites heading into the competition.
Brazil boss Tite has a plethora of attacking stars to choose from, including having the freedom to leave out Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino from his 26-man squad.
Whilst Vieira and Tavares weren’t selected for Portugal, they will be hoping their country can add to their Euro 2016 triumph by going all the way and securing the biggest trophy of them all.
There will be many neutrals out there that will be hoping for one last dance between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and a possible meeting in the final.
That would probably break the footballing world because two of the greatest players of the modern era will have one final chance to write their names into the history books.
