Speculation is mounting that Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign Arnaut Danjuma.
That is according to The Daily Mail, who have reported that Spurs are now in the reckoning to bring the Dutch attacker to North London.
The Villarreal handful can play anywhere across the front three [Transfermarkt] and that versatility is likely to appeal to Tottenham manager Antonio Conte.
Oh, and he is someone who impressed a certain Michael Owen back in 2021.
Referencing a game versus Manchester United, Owen told BT Sport, as covered by HITC Sport, at the time: “He was absolutely exceptional. He plays on that left side and he’s very direct, he can beat players, he can score goals and he comes in and he’s an attacking player and you know, he gave that Manchester United defence a real scare.”

Despite genuine versatility, Danjuma is predominantly a central attacking player and this is someone who Spurs needed for years.
They haven’t needed Danjuma specifically, but they have needed a decent covering option for Harry Kane up front.
They’ve tried with Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente and Carlos Vinicius without ever finding a top-drawer Plan B, but Danjuma might well be that man.
Question is, is he prepared to play second fiddle and rely on only around 15 minutes per game, on average?
Well, this is the question.
Because Kane is rarely injured, and because he wouldn’t be playing alongside the England hitman, he’d be his understudy and that requires acceptance that you aren’t going to play very often.
