West Ham United’s latest signing has revealed that he was desperate to sign for the club as soon as he heard of their interest.
Under new manager Julen Lopetegui, West Ham United are hoping to embark on a new era in East London following David Moyes’ successful spell at the club which included a Europa Conference League victory back in 2023.
The club have already pulled off the signing of exciting Brazilian Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras and this is despite the deal looking off after the club’s co-owner David Sullivan refused to sanction the spend needed before changing his mind at the 11th hour.
West Ham have made another signing this summer after confirming the acqusition of Irish goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, who was the goalkeeper at Sheffield United during their Premier League season which eventually led to relegation.

Foderingham on West Ham move
Speaking to the club’s media channels, the goalkeeper was clearly elated about the move to the East London side.
“It feels brilliant to be a Hammer!” Foderingham said. “As soon as I heard of the interest, it was something that I was keen to get sorted and get done and I’m just delighted to be here.
“I’ve been fortunate to play for teams with a real strong fanbase, a fanbase that’s passionate about their club, and West Ham are no different. T
“They’re a fanbase that care deeply about their football club, it’s a family club as well, and I find it’s always better to play for a team where you have those supporters cheering you on week in, week out.
“Especially in the last few years, the Club has had some really good success in Europe and in the Premier League as well. I think the Club has gone from strength to strength and I think I’m joining at a very, very good time as it’s a positive time for the Club.”
Foderingham turned down offers to join West Ham
Sources have told HITC that Foderingham had a plethora of offers to move elsewhere but the Irish shot-stopper was keen on a move to the London Stadium.
Despite Paolo Di Canio once labelling the goalkeeper as one of the worst he has ever seen, Foderingham could prove to be a smart signing from the Hammers.
Foderingham had a long spell at Rangers before moving to Sheffield United where he very quickly established himself as number one and proving Di Canio wrong in the process.
