West Ham United or Newcastle United for Duje Caleta-Car?
In our view, West Ham could beat Newcastle to the signature of Caleta-Car if both the Premier League clubs make bids.
The Hammers are aiming to finish in the Premier League top four, while there is a danger that Newcastle could get relegated to the Championship.
So, in our opinion, West Ham would be more appealing to Caleta-Car than Newcastle.
However, we cannot overlook the fact that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) can throw money at players to get them in.
After all, PIF are the richest owners in club football.
Caleta-Car, 25, himself could find the challenge of keeping Newcastle up in the Premier League very appealing.
Caleta-Car has scored one goal in 12 Ligue 1 appearances and has played thrice in the Europa League for Marseille so far this season.
