
West Ham United have now pushed themselves to the front of the queue to sign Arsenal contract rebel Eddie Nketiah this summer.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that West Ham are now in pole position to sign Nketiah at the end of the season.
Nketiah is out of contract and looks set to leave Arsenal to chase a starring role elsewhere.
Arsenal allegedly want last-gasp talks with Nketiah to try and change his mind about leaving the club.
Nketiah has been starting for Arsenal of late, and after scoring twice against Chelsea last month, he repeated the trick against Leeds United on Sunday.
Nketiah is proving to be a much bigger goal threat than Alexandre Lacazette.
That doesn’t change the fact that both players are leaving at the end of their contracts as things stand though.
Arsenal likely know that Nketiah will be a man in demand this summer and West Ham are now favourites.
It’s suggested that David Moyes is desperate to add more goals to the West Ham side and Nketiah is now a likely signing.
That move would allow Nketiah to stay in London whilst also playing regular first-team action.
West Ham desperately need another striker to support Michail Antonio and Nketiah seems ideal for that role.
