- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that UAE outfit Shabab Al-Ahli have won the race to sign a West Ham defender.
After a frustrating start to the window, the Hammers announced three new signings in the space of a week.
A deal with Leeds United for winger Crysencio Summerville was first, before Niclas Fullkrug and Guido Rodriguez were also unveiled.
Max Kilman, Wes Foderingham and Luis Guilherme arrived earlier in the summer, meaning West Ham have now completed six new signings this window.
To make space for their new arrivals, West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui told centre-back Kurt Zouma he was free to leave this summer.
HITC revealed that the Saudi Pro League were in advanced talks with Zouma, but the Frenchman has instead chosen to move to the UAE.

West Ham fee as defender set for medical
Shabab Al-Ahli have now beaten Saudi clubs in the race for Zouma’s signature.
Zouma confirmed to West Ham that he would prefer a move to Dubai and he is now set to undergo a medical with his new club before the move is finalised.
HITC can confirm that West Ham are not set to receive any fee for the former Chelsea defender, with both clubs agreeing to a free transfer.
Shabab Al-Alhi are set to take on the final year of his contract, with his salary at the London Stadium well over £100,000 per week.
Zouma was initially offered to Nice as part of the proposed deal for Jean-Clair Todibo, but the Ligue 1 side were not willing to match his wages.
West Ham transfer latest
With Zouma soon to be cleared off the club’s wage bill, West Ham have more flexibility for new arrivals.
The Hammers remain in talks with Manchester United and have agreed terms with Aaron Wan Bissaka but a deal remains incomplete.
