West Ham star Gianluca Scamacca took to Instagram after the Hammers confirmed themselves as winners of Group B in the Europa Conference League with a win over Silkeborg – and West Ham target Davide Frattesi has praised him.
Scamacca, 23, came off the bench for West Ham on Thursday night. The Italy striker has become first choice at West Ham since his move from Frattesi’s Sassuolo. Michail Antonio has been starting in Europe, Scamacca in the League.
But the Hammers no.7 failed to add to his six goals in what was his 17th West Ham outing already. He came close with a header from a corner. But it was Manuel Lanzini that scored the only goal of the game, Antonio winning the penalty.
The Argentina international scored his second goal of the season with an impressive penalty. Indeed, the midfielder scored against Silkeborg away from home – another penalty. A win is a win, and West Ham made it five from five.
Scamacca took to Instagram following the win. He praised his side for finishing top of the Group, something they were widely expected to do having reached the Europa League semi-finals last term. That, and strengthening in the summer.
West Ham star Scamacca praised by Hammers target Frattesi
It has been an impressive campaign from West Ham. Efficient, with rotation. But it was expected of Moyes, who was backed in the summer by the Hammers board. That spending could continue ahead of the January transfer window.
Italian outlet FC Inter News claim West Ham could raid Sassuolo for a second time in the space of two windows. Italy international, and Scamacca’s old teammate, Frattesi is a target for the Hammers. A fee of £26million may be enough.
Putting the rumours aside, Frattesi commented on Scamacca’s Instagram – praising the big striker. Perhaps, fuelling the rumours that he has surely been made aware of. Frattesi would be a wonderful signing, especially at just £26million.
