West Ham United are always on the scene to a deal for Layvin Kurzawa, but his agent feels it is hard to place the Paris Saint-Germain defender in England in the January transfer sales.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who report the Hammers are serious in their interest but do not lead the race. Instead, Kurzawa’s representative, Mikael Silvestre, plans to hold talks with Serie A sides by the end of the week.

Napoli, Lazio and Inter Milan have each shown an interest in acquiring Kurzawa this month and ending his exile. The three Italian sides hold a long-standing admiration of the 29-year-old, who is under contract until 2024.

Kurzawa is likely to leave PSG in the mid-season market as Mauricio Pochettino has left the full-back in the wilderness. He has only played once so far this season during a nine-minute cameo in the Trophee des Champions.

Pochettino has also omitted the 13-cap France international from each of his Ligue 1 sides since the opening day. Kurzawa was an unused substitute for Les Parisiens’ curtain-raising win away to ES Troyes AC on August 7.

So, given his absolute lack of minutes across all competitions, Kurzawa continues to agitate for a transfer. But it is unlikely he moves to England, despite West Ham’s intent, as Thomas Tuchel rejected a reunion at Chelsea.

Kurzawa’s transfer path from Paris Saint-Germain to West Ham clouded

Tuchel does not want Kurzawa in west London, despite Chelsea being offered a transfer for the Paris Saint-Germain defender. Silvestre is also now prioritising moving Kurzawa to Italy, despite the Irons’ interest in a deal.

Prior reports by Foot Mercato claimed West Ham made contact over a January transfer for Kurzawa to leave Paris Saint-Germain. David Moyes is shopping for a full-back, having had to rely on Ben Johnson regularly.

Johnson split his duties between left and right-sided roles while Aaron Cresswell recovered from injury. So, the Evening Standard noted Moyes explored his potential options, but the Englishman’s return has lessened the need.

Thus Kurzawa’s path from Paris Saint-Germain to West Ham in the January transfer window is currently shrouded with doubt. But Silvestre failing to seal a move to Italy may revive the Irons’ intrigue in PSG’s €23m (£19m) man.
