David Moyes has an extremely tough job on his hands at West Ham United.

The Hammers parted company with Slaven Bilic yesterday, and the club’s owners released a statement via the official website, hinting that a new approach with fresh ideas was necessary in order for West Ham to improve this season.
The east London outfit spent heavily in the summer on acquiring new talent, but have really struggled this term, and currently sit precariously in 18th position in the Premier League table after their paltry return of just nine points from the 11 games they have played thus far.
And whilst Bilic was a popular figure with the fans at the London Stadium, it was obvious that a change was needed, with the Croatian seemingly bereft of ideas of how to mix things up.

The club’s owners David Gold and David Sullivan released a joint statement via the official website yesterday, highlighting the reasons why they felt a change was needed before it became too late:
“We see this as an exciting opportunity to appoint a quality manager to the position to inject fresh ideas, organisation and enthusiasm into a very talented squad. We will now focus our entire efforts on bringing in the manager we believe can get the best out of the current squad of players and steer the Club towards the top half of the table as quickly as possible.”

David Moyes, who was handed the West Ham job on a short-term deal today, and his Hammers side now face a two-week lay-off due to the international break, and the Scotsman faces a lot of hard work ahead of him on the training ground, if he is to galvanise his troops ahead of their clash with Watford on November 19th.
