West Ham United parted company with the Croatian today.

Slaven Bilic spoke to Sky Sports following his sacking from his position as Hammers boss today, and insisted that he totally understand the club’s decision to part ways with him.
West Ham have endured a miserable start to their 2017/18 campaign, and currently sit in 18th position in the Premier League table, after their woeful return of just nine points from their opening 11 outings.
The Croatian is a popular figure in east London, but it was clear to see that he had run out of ideas by the time Liverpool had swept his side away on Saturday evening.

And the 49-year-old spoke to reporters in the immediate aftermath of his sacking, insisting that he is proud of the work that he has done during his time in charge at West Ham, as quoted by Sky Sports:
“I suspected it to be fair. We didn’t start this crucial season well. We hoped that we could make that step up from the start and thought we could make it. Of course, you are always hoping and believing in yourself that you can turn it around and do it, otherwise you wouldn’t be in this level. But it doesn’t mean I don’t understand the move that the club has made. No hard feelings. When I look back on my time, I am very proud of my work here.”

The Hammers are now set to appoint David Moyes as their new manager on a short-term contract, according to Sky Sports, as the club’s owners make a desperate attempt to salvage their season.
Whether the Scotsman can turn West Ham’s season around though, remains to be seen.
