David Moyes’s West Ham United are reportedly trying to sign Manchester United central defender Harry Maguire, a player Mauricio Pochettino wants at Chelsea.
According to The London Evening Standard, West Ham United have made an offer to Manchester United for Harry Maguire.
The Hammers want to sign the England international central defender on a loan deal.
Manchester United, though, have rejected the Hammers’ advances.
The Red Devils do not want to send Maguire out on loan and would prefer to get him off their books on a permanent deal, according to the report.
The Sun reported over the weekend that Chelsea are among the clubs who are keen on signing Maguire this summer.

The report in the British tabloid noted interest from West Ham, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in the 30-year-old centre-back as well.
Chelsea should bid for West Ham United target Harry Maguire
In our opinion, Chelsea should make a move of their own for Harry Maguire now that West Ham United are actively trying to sign the Manchester United defender.
The London Evening Standard has reported that the Red Devils want to sell Maguire.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag personally wants the defender gone.
While West Ham are a big club, Chelsea are bigger and will challenge for the Premier League top four next season.
The Blues have won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League in recent years.
Like Manchester United, Chelsea are a global brand.
Leaving Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge would be a sideways move for Maguire, who is still only 30 and would be an asset for Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.
Maguire has made 219 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The defender has scored 11 goals, provided eight assists and kept 56 clean sheets in those games.
