West Ham look set to sign Nayef Aguerd as the Rennes defender has allegedly travelled to England for a medical with the club.
The Hammers are in the market for a new left-sided centre back and who can blame them.
Angelo Ogbonna has been a great servant for West Ham but is now 34 and is coming off the back of a major injury.
West Ham need to start thinking about the long-term heir for Ogbonna and would ideally like another left-footer to replace the Italian.
West Ham look set to sign Nayef Aguerd
The Hammers have been linked with a host of defenders this summer but the main name is that of Rennes defender Aguerd.
TV station 2M in Aguerd’s native Morocco were reporting that Aguerd was set for a West Ham medical as soon as his international duty was over.
That now appears to be true as 90Min claim that Aguerd has flown to London to undergo his medical with West Ham.
It’s stated that, barring any complications, Aguerd will soon become a West Ham player.
The deal will allegedly cost West Ham at least £30million as they look to lure the centre back to East London.

Aguerd, 26, was still playing in Morocco with FUS Rabat until as recently as 2018.
Dijon pounced to sign Aguerd before selling him to Rennes in 2020, where he has been a key player ever since his arrival.
Aguerd is quick and comfortable on the ball but the most impressive aspect of his game is his outstanding jumping ability.
That helps Aguerd shine in the air despite hardly being the biggest centre back at 6ft 2in tall.
David Moyes will want more signings such as a goalkeeper and a winger this summer, maybe even another striker.
It looks like Aguerd will be the first one in though, becoming the second straight big summer signing at centre back after Kurt Zouma last summer.
