West Ham could finally land Nayef Aguerd as the Rennes defender prepares to undergo a medical after his international commitments.

The Hammers are in the market for another centre back this summer with David Moyes keen on additions.

A left-footed centre back could be ideal with Angelo Ogbonna now 34 and coming off a major knee injury.

Aguerd has been on the West Ham radar for a while now and could finally complete a move to East London very soon.

West Ham could finally land Nayef Aguerd

West Ham have been linked with Aguerd for around a year now given claims that they tried to sign him last summer.

The Rennes star is back on the radar and it sounds like West Ham may actually be getting close.

Recent reports suggested that Moyes wanted a deal done for Aguerd very quickly but that hasn’t quite materialised.

Fabrizio Romano suggested last week that West Ham were closing in on a deal worth around £30million.

Rennes have even looked at replacements in Wout Faes and Romain Saiss, suggesting that Aguerd to West Ham is on.

TV station 2M back in Aguerd’s native Morocco are now reporting that a final agreement has been reached for the defender to join West Ham.

It’s stated that Aguerd will immediately undergo a medical with West Ham after the international fixtures come to an end.

Morocco take on Liberia in their final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier of this period tonight, having already faced USA and South Africa in recent days.

That means Aguerd could undergo his West Ham medical within a matter of days as Moyes closes in on his top target.

Aguerd would surely be viewed as the long-term partner for Kurt Zouma at West Ham and finally securing his signature would be a great start to the window.
