In 2018, Jurgen Klopp heaped praise on to the-then Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, who has been linked as a replacement for David Moyes, if he gets sacked as West Ham United manager.
While the Hammers have earned excellent back-to-back draws against Newcastle United and Chelsea, it seems as if Moyes’ job remains under threat, with Paulo Fonseca recently speculated with taking over the club.
However, it seems as if West Ham are now exploring a move for Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri to succeed David Moyes, who was on the receiving end of high praise from Jurgen Klopp 5 years ago.
Klopp lauded reported Moyes replacement at West Ham, Sarri in 2018
Not that any real introduction is needed when discussing the Italian tactician, who has made a name himself over the years but the Liverpool boss’ words are a true insight into how highly-rated he is within his peers.
As quoted by Football 365, Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for West Ham United’s potential David Moyes replacement in Maurizio Sarri in 2018, saying, “It is the biggest change I ever saw in such a short period of time of system. Wow. Style completely [different at Chelsea]. What a manager, to be honest.”

“I’m pretty much a supporter of him since I saw them playing at Naples [Napoli]. Outstanding football and now doing it in a very interrupted pre-season, without a lot of players involved, starting the season and you see immediately the impact; all my respect. It’s really good to watch.”
Klopp comments prove the calibre of managers the Irons are targeting
Jurgen Klopp, as well as Pep Guardiola in the past have expressed their admiration for Maurizio Sarri, who has been reported to be targeted by West Ham if they give David Moyes the marching orders.
That just goes to show that the East London side could potentially bring in coach that could revolutionize their style of play upon his appointment, especially since they now have more flair players at their disposal.
