West Ham United are planning to stick with David Moyes – partially because they don’t think other options are all that impressive.

That’s according to TEAMtalk, who claim that West Ham officials just aren’t convinced that potential replacements are all that much better than Moyes.

The Scot has been under huge pressure of late with this proving to be a rather disappointing season for the Hammers.

West Ham spent big on the likes of Nayef Aguerd, Emerson Palmieri, Thilo Kehrer, Flynn Downes, Maxwell Cornet, Lucas Paqueta and Gianluca Scamacca over the summer.

That was supposed to give West Ham a major boost after finishing seventh last season and reaching the Europa League semi-finals.

Instead, West Ham have regressed this season and recently went on a run of one point in seven Premier League games.

That piled the pressure on Moyes but it now sounds like West Ham are sticking with him after five points in three games – and a lack of alternatives.

West Ham-linked Paulo Fonseca at odds with Lille amid claims Moyes will stay

The Hammers have probably looked into a host of potential candidates just in case they do decide to move on from Moyes.

Reports from the Daily Mail in January suggested that West Ham were eyeing up Lille boss Paulo Fonseca.

West Ham were internally discussing a move but again felt that the potential realistic replacements for Moyes weren’t great.

Fonseca is still a name to keep tabs on, especially amid claims that his time at Lille is turning little fractious.

Foot Mercato reported last week that Fonseca had been involved in a heated argument with Lille president Olivier Letang.

It was suggested that Fonseca was angry with Letang interfering in team preparations, whilst a lack of January additions has brought real tension too.

This is something West Ham may now keep in mind; if Moyes can’t find some consistency in the coming weeks, it may be relatively easy to lure Fonseca away from Lille.
