West Ham United look set to allow Andriy Yarmolenko to leave the club this summer with Hull City’s Keane Lewis-Potter potentially coming in.

That’s according to The Guardian, who claim that Yarmolenko is now expected to leave West Ham at the end of the season.

Yarmolenko is out of contract at the end of the season and it looks like West Ham don’t intend to give him a new one.

Yarmolenko allegedly earns around £115,000-a-week and the Hammers are keen to get that off the books.

The Ukrainian is 32 now and agreeing to pay that kind of money beyond this summer, when Yarmolenko will likely decline, would be a gamble.

Yarmolenko joined West Ham from Borussia Dortmund in 2018 but has never really lived up to his billing in East London.

Just 64 Premier League games and eight goals wasn’t what West Ham were expecting when Yarmolenko joined.

There have been some incredible moments for him lately though.

West Ham fans have rallied behind Yarmolenko amid the ongoing conflict back in his native Ukraine.

David Moyes gave Yarmolenko time off, but when he came back he was in the goals, scoring against Aston Villa as he was moved to tears.

Yarmolenko had one more incredible moment in his locker, scoring the second goal in a 2-0 Europa League win over Sevilla.

It’s been an emotional time for Yarmolenko and being able to have those moments with the Hammers fans will live with him forever.

Moyes has previously branded Yarmolenko ‘terrific’ but the time has come for him to move on.

The report adds that West Ham may move for another winger with Yarmolenko potentially heading out and Hull star Lewis-Potter is a prime target.

Whilst Yarmolenko is right-sided and cuts in ton his left foot, Lewis-Potter plays on the left and cuts in on his right foot.

Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on signing Lewis-Potter, so West Ham won’t have this all their own way.

Still, having given Jarrod Bowen a perfect platform after his move from Hull, West Ham should appeal to Lewis-Potter this summer.
