The Premier League pair were credited with interest in the Colombia centre-back before his January transfer to Camp Nou [Mirror and Sport].
And according to the latter publication, Mina could be on the move again this summer, as Barca prepare for Arthur’s arrival.
That’s because La Liga sides are only able to register three players from non-EU countries, and with Arthur on board the Catalans would have one too many until Philippe Coutinho’s Portuguese passport – for which he qualifies through his wife – comes through at some point next season (Paulinho being the other).
Having spent more than £10 million on Mina [Transfermarkt], whom they tied to a five-and-a-half-year deal, it is unlikely that Barcelona will want to part permanently with the 23-year-old, although a loan move could well be on the cards.
And Mina’s availability may once again alert West Ham and West Brom, who could both be short in his position this summer whether or not they remain in the top flight (West Ham sold Jose Fonte to China in February, and have James Collins out of contract, while West Brom’s Jonny Evans attracted strong interest during the January transfer window).
Being relegated, however, would surely rule them out of the running.
