New West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Bruce wants to sign former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to TEAMtalk, but he has said that he would love to return to the Gunners in a playing capacity.

Bruce was appointed as the new West Brom boss this week, and TEAMtalk are reporting that the former Newcastle United manager wants to sign Wilshere on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old English midfielder is a free agent at the moment and has been training with Arsenal.

Wilshere said on talkSPORT (5:46pm, February 4, 2022) that he “would love” to play for Arsenal again, but he admitted that he is “not in control of that.”

Jack Wilshere would make West Brom better

In our view, Wilshere would be a very good signing for West Brom, especially as he is a free agent.

The midfielder is fit and is ready to play competitive football.

We know how good Wilshere is, and now that he is free of injuries, we think that he would an asset for any team.

West Brom are sixth in the Championship table at the moment with 45 points from 29 matches.

There is still a chance that the Baggies could finish in the automatic promotion places.

And, in our view, singing Wilshere would enhance West Brom’s chances of doing just that.

Now, Wilshere may harbour hopes of playing for Arsenal again, but it does not look likely at the moment that Arteta would hand him a contract.

So, a move to West Brom, who actually want him, could appeal to Wilshere.
