Arsenal have confirmed that Jordi Osei-Tutu has left the club to join Nottingham Forest on loan for the season.
The club confirmed on their official website that the 22-year-old right-back has joined the Championship side for the year. Osei-Tutu has had two previous spells out on loan with VfL Bochum and Cardiff City.
The defender is highly rated at Arsenal. However, injuries have played their wicked part in hampering Osei-Tutu’s senior career. The youngster played just eight games for Cardiff last season due to hamstring problems.
Indeed, a right-back is a priority for Arsenal this summer if reports are to be believed. The club are eager to move on Hector Bellerin, who has fallen behind Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares in the pecking order.
However, selling the Catalan defender is proving to be more difficult than first thought. Inter Milan are reportedly keen on the fullback, but Arsenal’s price tag is a figure the Serie A champions are unwilling to match.
With no European football this season, first-team chances for academy players are likely to be few and far between for those looking to break into the senior squad.
This is could be why Osei-Tutu has left for the Championship for the season. However, on social media, some Arsenal fans are not happt that the defender has been sent out on loan.
Whilst the defender has hardly kicked a ball for the Arsenal first-team, supporters are desperate to see a new player attempt to challenge for the right-back spot next season.
