Some Arsenal fans on social media are ruing the decision to sell Emi Martinez after Football London reported that Bernd Leno is set to be sold this summer.
The Gunners had a huge decision to make last year around their goalkeepers, and they decided that Leno would be their number one this season.
However, it seems as though the decision to let Martinez join Aston Villa back in September has backfired as Leno is now seemingly set to leave the club and Arsenal will need a new goalkeeper.
Of course, if they still had Martinez they’d have a ready-made replacement at the club, but due to the fact he’s now an Aston Villa player, they’ll need to dip into the market.
Who Arsenal decide to bring in to replace Leno remains to be seen, and who knows? They could even be better than Martinez, but the reality is that good stoppers are hard to come by, and Arsenal fans are now rightfully annoyed by their decision to sell Martinez back in September.
