Darren Ambrose has told talkSPORT that he would ‘love’ Antonio Conte to re-sign Christian Eriksen for Tottenham Hotspur if the Brentford star targets a ‘top’ transfer in the summer.
The Denmark playmaker only joined the Bees on a six month deal in the January market as he made his return to football. Inter Milan agreed to release Eriksen in December as Serie A rules meant he could not play after having an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator fitted.
Eriksen required the ICD following his cardiac arrest during Euro 2020 and had not played since facing Finland in June. He has since shown his skill is still supreme with a goal and an assist in four Premier League appearances. He also featured for Denmark again this March.

Eriksen struck his maiden Bees goal in their shock 4-1 win away to Chelsea on Saturday to hand Thomas Frank’s side the lead. The 30-year-old found himself in a pocket of space in the box to meet Bryan Mbeumo’s perfect cross before lifting the ball over Edouard Mendy.
Brentford and Frank’s decision to sign Eriksen in January is proving a genius bit of business as they look to avoid relegation. The Bees sat 14th in the table and eight points above the bottom three upon his deadline day arrival. They are now 11 clear, but still in 14th-place.
Conte told to re-sign Eriksen as Brentford star is who Tottenham are ‘missing’
Former Crystal Palace midfielder and Tottenham fan Ambrose now wants Conte to target a transfer for Eriksen if he looks to leave Brentford this summer. The Italian tactician did sign the 111-cap Denmark star from Spurs for Inter Milan for £17m in the January 2020 market.
Ambrose said: “He could be loyal to Brentford, but it depends on what Eriksen wants. If he wants to show loyalty, he’s enjoying his football and says: ‘Right, I’m going to give back to Brentford because they put their trust in me when it looked like no one else was going to’.

“He’s only 30, and he might be ambitious and think: ‘You know what? I want another crack at the very top’. I think there will be top, top teams in for him. Conte has already shown his interest in Eriksen. I would love him back at Tottenham, that is what we’re missing.”
Eriksen played 305 fixtures with Tottenham in all competitions, scoring 69 and assisting 90 goals, between arriving in England from Ajax for £11.5m in 2013 and joining Conte’s Inter.
