Never let anybody tell you football isn’t special. After suffering a cardiac arrest at EURO 2020, many felt Christian Eriksen would never play football again.
Fast forward to now, and the former Tottenham maestro has scored three goals in his last three games, the most recent coming earlier today as Brentford hammered Chelsea by a 4-1 scoreline.
Interestingly, Antonio Conte admitted in February that he’s keen to work with the 30-year-old again, with a return to Spurs on the cards.
Now, Gary Lineker has shared his thoughts on Eriksen after his dazzling display at Stamford Bridge earlier today.
What’s the story?
Well, remarkable and wonderful were Lineker’s words of choice to describe the Denmark international’s amazing performance against Chelsea.
You can see what the BBC Match of the Day host wrote on Twitter below.
If he keeps performing like this, Tottenham may find themselves facing serious competition for his signature in the summer.
Eriksen’s deal with Brentford expires in June, so he will undoubtedly be one of the hottest free agents on the market.
Tottenham need Christian Eriksen

In our view, Conte should have Eriksen high on his list of targets.
The pair know each other well having worked at Inter Milan together, and Spurs are severely lacking a source of creativity in midfield.
On the basis of his display against Chelsea, Eriksen is clearly still capable of dominating the biggest games, despite what happened at EURO 2020.
As WhoScored shows, the former Ajax maestro made three key passes in west London earlier – no Chelsea player registered more.

Eriksen also delivered a solid defensive display, which will surely catch the demanding Conte’s eye.
The Dane made three successful tackles and four clearances, while also registering one interception.
If Eriksen keeps this up, he certainly won’t be short of offers this summer.
