Spurs reportedly rejected the prospect of including Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte in a deal for Harry Kane.
According to Fabrizio Romano via the Here We Go Podcast, the Spanish defender and Gabriel Jesus were both offered to Tottenham for their talisman striker.
However, Fabio Paratici rejected the opportunity to include either player in a deal for Kane. The Spurs striker is eager to leave the north London side this summer, and Laporte is available for transfer.
With John Stones signing a new long-term contract with City, the future of the former Athletic Bilbao defender looks likely to be away from the Premier League champions.
And Tottenham could be an ideal destination for Laporte. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are keen to add a second central defender following the arrival of Cristian Romero.
Indeed, with Laporte being a three-time Premier League champion, the 27-year-old centre-back has the quality to easily slot into Nuno’s vision for Spurs.

And on social media, Tottenham fans can’t believe the club turned down the chance to sign Laporte given how much quality the Basque defender would add to the Spurs.
