Mikel Arteta has hinted Bukayo Saka is a doubt for Arsenal’s fixture against Manchester United tomorrow night.

Speaking to the press via Football London, the Gunners boss revealed the 14-cap England international picked up a knock against Newcastle United at the weekend. Saka came off during Arsenal’s 2-0 win against the Toon after scoring the opener in the second half.

With Arsenal’s trip to United one of the club’s most historically difficult fixtures of the season, losing Saka to injury could be massive for the north London side.

Moreover, with the football calendar already in December, every new injury for Arsenal means more minutes and strain on players who play week in week out. And, given Saka’s importance, Arteta and fans will be praying the winger’s back soon.

When asked about the latest injury news at Arsenal, Arteta said: “Granit [Xhaka] is still not ready. Kolasinac is still not ready. We have a doubt with Bukayo and a few other knocks we had from Newcastle. I am hopeful [for Bukayo] but we don’t know.”

Indeed, a win against United could be one of the biggest results Arsenal pull off this season. Three points would more than throw the Gunners into European contention for the season.
