Arsenal will face Liverpool in the semi-finals of the League Cup, with Chelsea hosting Tottenham in the other match of the penultimate round.

The Gunners have been in brilliant form in the competition this season, with Mikel Arteta’s side scoring the most goals and conceding the fewest out of any club in the League Cup this campaign.

With no European football, the League Cup has had some added importance this season for Arsenal. And now the north London side sit two games away from a final at Wembley Stadium.

However, standing between them and England’s home of football is Liverpool, with the Merseyside club squeaking into the semi-finals after beating Leicester City in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Takumi Minamino scored a 95th-minute equaliser to take Liverpool’s match with the Foxes to penalties, with the Reds winning 5-4 in sudden death. And Arsenal fans are worried about their upcoming semi-final.

Indeed, whilst Arsenal beat Liverpool in the competition last season, also on penalties, supporters fear that Jurgen Klopp’s side will get the best of the north London side over two legs.

Arsenal have not made the League Cup final since 2018, and the competition this season will likely be their best shot at both winning silverware and guaranteeing a sport in Europe for 2022.
