Montpellier attacker Elye Wahi has told L’Equipe – as per GFFN – that he intends to remain at his current club until the end of the season at least, amid reports that both Arsenal and Everton are showing interest in the Ligue 1 wonderkid.
Wahi, 20, has broken onto the scene this season as one of Ligue 1’s best young players. Coming into the campaign, he had decent stats of 13 goals and three assists in 58 games – 30 of which came from the bench. But he has kicked on.
Starting all of his 16 outings in Ligue 1, Wahi has seven goals and an assist. Still only 20, he is really impressing in a side that sit way down the division in 14th place – even more impressive. Clubs are becoming aware of the France U21 star.
Media Foot reported last week that Everton are interested, and he would cost £22million. Foot Mercato say Arsenal have been looking at Wahi for a number of months. But now, Wahi has commented on his future, and he is staying put.
“I’m at Montpellier. We’ll see what the future has in store. We’ll speak with those involved at the end of the season. I’m concentrating on my club. If I can stay at Montpellier until 2025 [when his deal ends] it would be a pleasure.”

Wahi intends to remain amid Arsenal and Everton reports, price is £22m
Wahi is an exceptional talent that can play on the right, or up front. Just what Everton need. They require a player that can score goals – whether that is from out wide, or as a no.9. Arsenal need that kind of player too, but as back-up.
The lure of a move to Arsenal would surely tempt Wahi this month. The Gunners are looking good for a Premier League title challenge, but seriously need cover in the final third. The Europa League is also on the agenda for Arsenal.
So, Wahi provides that cover. Some top-quality back-up for Arsenal’s best players to keep them fresh. At Everton, he would start most games but may find himself embroiled in a relegation battle. He is represented by Jorge Mendes.
