Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has suggested that Folarin Balogun could leave the Gunners in the summer transfer window.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has quoted Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as saying that although Folarin Balogun is part of his squad at the moment, he could still leave the Gunners.

Arteta has said “we will see what happens” in regard to a potential departure of Balogun.

Juventus have been linked with the USA international striker, described as “really ambitious, really committed and really brave” as well as “just incredible” by Arteta on Arsenal’s official website in February 2023.

Earlier this month, Football Transfers reported that Balogun’s representatives have spoken to Chelsea about a possible move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Summer exit likely?

In our opinion, that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has not publicly said that he wants to keep Folarin Balogun suggests that the striker could really leave in the summer transfer window.

After all, if Arteta was really determined to keep the American striker, then he would have said so.

That the Arsenal boss is not sure about the future of Balogun suggests that he could be off in the coming weeks.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Reims.

The youngster made 34 starts and three substitute appearances in Ligue 1 last season, scoring 21 goals and providing two assists in the process.

Gabriel Jesus is the number one striker at Arsenal at the moment, and Balogun would have to fight with Eddie Nketiah to be the number two.
