Tottenham Hotspur have been liked with a number of goalkeepers, but one target has slipped through their net.
Spurs have had Hugo Lloris as their first-choice stopper for almost nine years now, having signed him from Lyon back in the summer of 2012.
Now 34, Lloris may be at an age where Tottenham begin to think about his successor, with younger shot-stoppers linked this summer.
A new rumour emerged last week as Kicker reported that Spurs were interested in signing Stuttgart goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.
The 23-year-old, formerly of Hoffenheim, excelled for Stuttgart last season and looks to be one of Europe’s top up-and-coming goalkeepers.
Spurs were claimed to be interested, but it’s Borussia Dortmund who have struck a deal worth around €15million (£13million) according to Bild.

Dortmund have confirmed the deal, with sporting director Michael Zorc stating that Kobel possesses ‘remarkable’ determination, ambition and consistency.
Zorc added that Dortmund see ‘great potential’ in the deal, and Spurs will have to hope that this one doesn’t come back to bite them in the future as they seek an heir Lloris.
