There hasn’t been a lot of speculation about Tanguy Ndombele leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Obviously the France international spent the second half of last season on loan at former club Lyon, who decided against signing the midfielder on a permanent basis.
As a result, Ndombele will be returning to Tottenham this summer.
But there’s a familiar figure willing to sign him.
According to a journalist from Italian outlet Radio Radio, former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing the player to Roma during the transfer window.
Enrico Camelio revealed on Wednesday that Mourinho is keen to sign the Frenchman on a season-long loan, but faces competition from local rivals Lazio.
He said: “We received a message around 1.30 am from a London source and informed us of the interest of Rome and Lazio in the midfielder. We then crossed paths and certainly found confirmations on the Biancocelesti, while we are working on the Giallorossi. Mourinho wants a powerful player and he is the ideal figure. He would come on loan.”
Is Tanguy Ndombele leaving Tottenham Hotspur?
Well, probably.
It remains to be seen if he winds up joining Mourinho in Italy, which would be one hell of a surprise given that the pair infamously fell out at one point in North London.
But one thing for certain – Antonio Conte doesn’t want Ndombele.
There’s no doubt that the £63 million signing from 2019 is a massive talent, but consistency issues have plagued his three-year spell at Spurs and with Conte only willing to work with players who boast stellar attitudes, it would appear that a summer exit is extremely likely.
