‘We might be back’: Arsenal fans react to news on ‘legends’ signed by Edu

Arsenal players Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli have been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for December.

The Premier League announced on their official website that the duo have been chosen for the seven-player shortlist for the award, with the likes of James Maddison, Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling also being named.

December was a productive month for the Gunners despite losing their opening two games to Manchester United and Everton. After those defeats, Arsenal won every game, including massive wins against Leeds United and Norwich City.

And at the centre of those wins were Odegaard and Martinelli. The pair, who were both signed by Edu Gaspar, both bagged three goals, with the Norweigian captain assisting three more and his Brazilian teammate setting up two.

Indeed, Odegaard and Martinelli are beginning to flourish in the Arsenal XI, with Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe also having productive months for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Moreover, the duo both have a strong chance of winning the Player of the Month award, especially Odegaard, who was statistically one of the best players in the Premier League in December.

With Arsenal having two players up for the Player of the Month award, supporters on social media are buzzing for the two youngsters.
