Well, the Liverpool injury news is getting no better at the moment.
Despite Thiago Alcantara being close to a return to training, there’s been negative news surrounding Jordan Henderson.
The Liverpool midfielder has missed a few Premier League games through injury and won’t be available to lead his teammates out for their Champions League opener in Napoli tonight.
Henderson’s hamstring problem has been described as ‘serious‘ last week and Jurgen Klopp has an update about his skipper.
According to the Liverpool manager, who told the club’s official website, the 32-year-old – a £20 million signing 11 years ago – won’t be available for selection again until after the international break, meaning he’s going to miss a minimum of four more games for the Anfield outfit.
Klopp said: “And Hendo, yeah, we have the result of the scan. It will be after [the] international break, I think, he will be back.”

Liverpool injury news
Liverpool might pay the penalty for not signing another midfielder during the summer.
In fact, the Reds arguably still haven’t replaced Gini Wijnaldum on Merseyside, in terms of buying somebody after the Dutchman left on a free transfer in June of 2021.
It hasn’t been a solid start to the Premier League campaign for Klopp’s side and with Henderson now out for a few more weeks, and Fabio Carvalho sidelined now too, well it’s far from ideal.
Liverpool need their best players fit and even when Thiago returns, he’ll be coming back into a midfield that he has very little experience of playing with.
