Roberto Earnshaw has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur manager target, Vincent Kompany, is the ‘best young manager’ in the world.

The former EFL striker was ruling out managers in the top flight, such as another Tottenham target in Julian Nagelsmann, but he feels outside of that, Vincent Kompany, is the one.

On Friday, Burnley earned promotion to the Premier League when they saw off the tough challenge of automatic hopefuls, Middlesbrough.

From the drastic change in the style of play to only two defeats to their name this season, the Clarets are on course to hit the 100 points mark in England’s second tier.

It’s an amazing achievement from Kompany, that’s why the likes of Paul Merson are questioning whether he should get the West Ham United gig if David Moyes is sacked.

Either way, the Premier League legend is getting plaudits everywhere he goes, as former Wales striker Robert Earnshaw explained, as he told Sky Sports News (07/04/23).

“He’s (Kompany) remarkable,” said Earnshaw. “I actually think, and I got a little bit of inside knowledge, I actually think he is the best young manager out there.

“I mean outside of the top level, we know. We know the Nagelsmann’s. But they have had that experience at the top level. But I am talking about somebody who is outside of it that is being working for the last few years.

“Some of the stuff they are doing is unbelievable. They are playing Premier League football right now. That’s why they are so good. Two defeats, it’s no accident.”

WOULD TOTTENHAM GO FOR KOMPANY?

At 36, with a forward-thinking and positive style of play, Kompany certainly ticks the Tottenham boxes.

Of course, from Burnley to Spurs would be a step up – and there are suggestions that they are looking at him.

But would the former centre-back be willing to go into a Tottenham job that has swallowed up two trophy-laden coaches?! That would probably be the only put-off, oh, and then there is Daniel Levy.
