Journalist Alasdair Gold has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur’s Head of Coaching Methodology Simon Davies could recommend the appointment of Vincent Kompany as the club’s next manager.

The credible Spurs correspondent made this claim on his YouTube channel, with a report on Friday stating that Kompany was ready to leave Burnley for the golden opportunity in N17.

It seems Simon Davies is a fan of Vincent Kompany and his work and strongly believes he would thrive as the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Why does Simon Davies back Vincent Kompany as the next Tottenham manager?

Well, the obvious reason could be that in such a short space of time, Kompany has managed to transform Burnley.

While the Clarets could be promoted as early as on the weekend if results go their way, their possession-based style of play is a far cry from the Sean Dyche way from a couple of years ago.

But the truth is Simon Davies has previously worked with Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht and was at Manchester City as well, which is why he seems to believe that his ex-colleague would be a brilliant fit at Tottenham.

“I know that Spurs have explored the possibility of Vincent Kompany as well. He’s very much at the younger age scale, he’s 36. Despite his inexperience, he has Burnley playing very well and he’s a winner. Simon Davies has come into Spurs as the Head of Coaching Methodology and he’s made a really good impression from what I understand from people around Spurs.”

“He was with Kompany at Anderlecht and at Man City with the youth. The key is that he will be telling people how good Kompany is, so by all means he could be a thought for the job.”

While Simon Davies is likely to suggest Vincent Kompany as the candidate to take over the Tottenham job, the question remains if the latter would make the move so early in his managerial career.
