Porto president Andre Villas-Boas faced up to questions about his club’s transfer business and the future of Francisco Conceicao was a hot topic.
The former Tottenham and Chelsea manager is now facing interest from both clubs in one of his biggest stars.
As revealed by HITC, Chelsea and Spurs are part of a host of Premier League clubs who are keeping tabs on Francisco Conceicao with Fulham and West Ham also sharing an interest.
It is understood that Chelsea sent scouts to watch Francisco Conceicao in action last season during his loan spell at Porto.
He has since made his move to the Portuguese club permanent after triggering a mandatory buy clause in his contract.
Conceicao started the summer with a release clause of £25million, but that figure rose to £38million (45million Euros) on Monday.
After a strong season in Portugal and impressing at Euro 2024, he could be on the move again this summer.
Andre Villas-Boas opens up on potential Francisco Conceicao deal
Villas-Boas faced questions over Porto’s transfer plans this week and he hinted that the club may need to sell to comply with Uefa’s financial regulations.
As quoted by O Jogo, Villas-Boas responded to a question on Conceicao by saying “The market is at a standstill, not very active. Fortunately, we have received inquiries about players from FC Porto.
“We are a difficult club to negotiate with, we have this very distinct brand. We have been approached by some clubs, but little concrete.
“We are happy with the squad, we need to meet the financial requirements of UEFA and have obligations until the end of the year.”

Conceicao’s release clause rising to £38million this week will fend off interest, but Villas-Boas suggested that Porto may still need to sell this summer to comply with regulations.
A cut-price deal could be on the cards for Chelsea or Spurs if they retain an interest in the 21-year-old winger.
