RB Leipzig technical director Christopher Vivell has revealed he will sit down with Angelino to debate the defender leaving the Bundesliga team, amid interest from West Ham United.

Christopher Vivell has told Sky Germany, as quoted by Kicker, that he will meet Angelino to discuss the West Ham United target leaving RB Leipzig. The Spaniard’s future at the Saxony side was put in doubt after the Red Bull Arena natives bought David Raum off Hoffenheim.

Die Roten Bullen paid Die Kraichgauer €30m (£25m) including add-ons for Raum to join on a five year contract. He had featured on Manchester City and United’s radars earlier in the summer, per 90min, while The Times also noted the Hammers held talks with Hoffenheim.
Raum will take over left-back duties in Domenico Tedesco’s defence from Angelino, just 17 months after RB Leipzig signed the Spaniard. Angelino triggered a £16m obligation to buy clause set on 12 games in the terms of a loan transfer from Manchester City last February.
West Ham interested in Angelino move after David Raum arrival
West Ham have shown an interest in signing Angelino to strengthen David Moyes’ defence with RB Leipzig signing his former target, Raum. Although La Voz de Galicia add while citing the Hammers’ appreciation that he would prefer to join a squad in the Champions League.
Vivell also accepts it will be tough to now keep both of Raum and Angelino in Saxony, so he will explore selling the latter. He also believes Hoffenheim would be a viable option for the 25-year-old, who hit 12 assists and three goals over 43 games in all competitions last term.
“Of course, it will be difficult to get both guys on the pitch together,” Vivell noted. “We will sit down, discuss and find the best solution for Angelino. Hoffenheim are a fantastic club. They play football that would be very, very good for Angelino.
“He would fit in there very well. Of course, it’s up to Hoffenheim and the player to decide what the right step is. We can help and support him.”
David Moyes has eyes on Angelino moving to east London
West Ham are not alone in showing an interest in signing Angelino from RB Leipzig, with La Voz de Galicia also citing Hoffenheim as a possible option. The Daily Mail additionally note Brighton & Hove Albion are lining him up as a successor for Chelsea target Marc Cucurella.
Angelino – who Vivell added is a ‘fantastic’ player – can provide either Premier League club a dynamic left-sided threat. He can charge up and down the flank to contribute in the Irons or Seagulls’ forward moves, and is also a tenacious defender despite him only being 5 ft 7.
