Former Tottenham attacker Erik Lamela has been named on the final three-man shortlist for the 2021 FIFA Puskas Award.

The attacker, who joined Sevilla in the summer transfer window, scored one of the goals of the year after the winger bagged an outrageous rabona against Arsenal in the north London derby.

The goal was made better due to the fact it both nutmegged Thomas Partey and also curled past Bernd Leno into the far corner to give Spurs a 1-0 lead in the match.

Despite Lamela being sent off later in the game and Tottenham losing 2-1, it was without doubt one of the goals of the Premier League season and an honourable candidate for the Puskas Award.

With Heung-min Son the current holder of the Puskas Award, Spurs could become the first club to ever hold the prestigious accolade in back-to-back years. However, Lamela faces some strong competition.

Patrik Schick’s record-breaking goal for the Czech Republic at Euro 2020 is the favourite to win the Puskas Award. Whilst FC Porto striker Mehdi Taremi completes the shortlist for his sensational bicycle kick against. Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League.
