
Arsenal could see the return of Granit Xhaka as early as next month according to Mikel Arteta.
Speaking to Football London ahead of this weekend’s massive Premier League match against Newcastle, the Gunners boss revealed that the 29-year-old midfielder is ahead of schedule from recovery from a knee injury.
Xhaka has been out injured since September’s north London derby. However, despite originally being ruled out until 2022, the Arsenal midfielder is now likely to return in December.
With Arsenal set to lose both Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny in January due to the Africa Cup of Nations, this is update is a massive boost for the Gunners’ squad.
Indeed, Xhaka’s performances before the injury were disappointing, to say the least. But, the midfielder’s recovery will come at the perfect time, with the Swiss star no doubt eager to return to top form.
And on social media, Arsenal fans are buzzing that Xhaka will be back in time for Partey and Elneny’s departure for their international teams.
