Mikel Arteta has confirmed in an update that Ben White could miss Arsenal’s trip to Manchester City next weekend.
Speaking to the press via Football London, the Gunners boss claimed that there is a chance that White will miss a second Premier League game for Arsenal.
White missed this weekend’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea after testing positive to Covid-19. Arsenal were struck down with an outbreak last week that saw four players miss the trip to Brentford.
The Gunners’ start to the 2021/22 Premier League season has been terrible, to say the least. Two 2-0 losses to Brentford and Chelsea see Arsenal sit 19th in the standings.
And with City coming up next for Arsenal, this update to White is further bad news to the club. Arteta has spent over £100m on new signings, with the former Brighton star being his most expensive purchase so far.
On social media, as you would expect, Arsenal fans were fuming over this latest update to White.
The Gunners will likely again be short in defence against the reigning Premier League champions. Pablo Mari and Rob Holding were poor against Chelsea.
