Rooney is also happy that the 29-year-old Tottenham striker has equalled his goal-record for England.
Kane scored for England from the penalty spot in the 54th minute when he beat his Tottenham teammate Hugo Lloris in the France goal.
The striker had the chance to make it 2-2 in the 84th minute from the penalty spot again, but this time he could not keep his effort on target.

Kane’s goal against France was his 53rd for England, meaning that Tottenham striker is now tied with Rooney as the highest scorer for the Three Lions.
