Josh Hokit could find himself back in action not long after June 14.
The American was added to the UFC’s White House card just minutes after picking up a win, stepping in for Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250.
That same night, Donald Trump had spoken with Dana White about getting ‘The Black Beast’ on a future card. The pair met backstage before the event and talked about making it happen, and it didn’t take long for the bout to come together.
Hokit is coming off an impressive victory over Curtis Blaydes, and he’s already getting interest from another big name looking to book him again in August.
In April, Hokit secured a notable victory over Blaydes in a heavyweight bout that immediately put him into the division’s title picture.

Josh Hokit called out by Sergei Pavlovich for UFC Shanghai in August
Since then, the former American footballer has climbed to the number five spot in the rankings, which he’ll look to defend against Lewis on June 14.
If he can avoid becoming another addition to Lewis’ lengthy highlight reel of knockouts, Hokit could be knocking on the door of a top-three ranking soon after.
That chance may already be forming. This week, Sergei Pavlovich took to social media to challenge ‘The Incredible Hok.’
Pavlovich posted: “Handle your business on June (14). If you win, we’ll settle this in China in August.”
The post followed comments from Hokit, who dismissed Pavlovich’s UFC Macau win over Tallison Teixeira — Alex Pereira’s teammate — calling him a “practice dummy.”
Hokit was quick to fire back on X: “China & you. USA.” It remains unclear if the UFC will go along with Pavlovich’s proposal for their return to Shanghai on August 29.
Regardless, before any decisions are made about his next fight, Hokit needs to take care of business against Derrick Lewis in Washington D.C.
