Liverpool central defender Virgil van Dijk has expressed his admiration of reported Jurgen Klopp target and Netherlands international teammate Cody Gakpo on Instagram.
Gakpo, who has been linked with Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal, was in action for the Netherlands against Senegal at the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar on Monday.
The Dutch won 2-0 against the African side in Group A.
Gakpo scored for the Netherlands in the 84th minute.
The 23-year-old PSV winger has taken to Instagram to give his reaction to the win, as you can see below.
And Liverpool and Netherlands international centre-back Van Dijk has responded to it with a ‘fire’ emoji.
The 31-year-old was clearly impressed by his Netherlands international teammate.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Dean Jones told Give Me Sport last week that Liverpool are actively scouting Gakpo and want to sign him.
