Arsenal are reportedly interested in Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, and the Gunners fanbase are very excited about his potential arrival.
Arsenal fans have every right to be excited about Lokonga, he’s been shining in the Belgian league this term, and he’s earned a rave review from his manager Vincent Kompany.
Kompany of course knows what it takes to be a top player, having been one of the Premier League’s greatest defenders during his time at Manchester City, and he believes the 21-year-old could get a big move one day.
What has Kompany said?
The Anderlecht boss is understandably a big fan of the midfielder, waxing-lyrical about him earlier this season.
“With his qualities at his age, he stands out for me,” Kompany said.
“Will Sambi win his duels? Is he improving his defensive work? You ask yourself these questions as a coach. Well, I’ve seen him make a lot of progress in that area.”
“Who knows, Sambi may even make the national selection for the European Championship. It would give him a chance to secure a top transfer in the long term – hopefully not too early.”

Rave review
The fact that Kompany has tipped Lokonga to get into the Belgium squad tells you all you need to know about him.
Belgium have one of the most stacked rosters of any team heading into the Euros, and they’ll be one of the favourites to win the entire tournament.
Sadly, Lokonga didn’t make the cut for the Euros, but he did earn a place in the squad back in March, but he didn’t manage to get his first cap during that time.
Kompany’s rave review should have Arsenal fans very excited about the prospect of signing Lokonga this summer.
