Tottenham and Crystal Palace have now seen their hopes of bringing Vincent Kompany to London take a blow.
What’s the story?
Well – according to the Guardian – Crystal Palace are admirers of the Belgian, and would like him to replace Roy Hodgson at the end of the season.
Elsewhere – as revealed by Sky Sports – Tottenham are keen to hire Kompany as a replacement for Antonio Conte.
Now, however, it has surely become even more difficult to lure the 36-year-old away from Turf Moor.
Kompany officially secured promotion to the Premier League after guiding Burnley to a 2-1 over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Friday night.

The Clarets now have 87 points to their name from 39 Championship outings after losing just two games in England’s second tier this season.
It is only a matter of time until Kompany guides Burnley to the Championship title as well, with his side 11 points clear of Sheffield United – the Belgian is surely already making plans ahead of next season.
Kompany should ignore Tottenham & Crystal Palace
While we doubt Kompany would leave for any side right now as he focuses on an exciting future for Burnley, Tottenham and Crystal Palace are two places he certainly shouldn’t be heading this early in his managerial career.
Spurs are a mess under Daniel Levy, with established winners such as Jose Mourinho and Conte even struggling to succeed in N17.
In regards to Crystal Palace, the south Londoners pulled the plug on Patrick Vieira at the first sign of trouble in their long-term project under the Frenchman, which surely won’t make Kompany feel comfortable about going to SE25.
In truth, his Burnley side could even be replacing the relegation threatened Eagles in the Premier League next season.
If Kompany isn’t at Burnley when the 2023/24 campaign kicks off, we will be very surprised.
