Get French Football News have confirmed that Marseille supporters let off fireworks outside of the hotel that Tottenham Hotspur players were staying in the early hours of Tuesday morning – posting a video on Twitter.

Reports have emerged today that fireworks kept Tottenham players awake during the night. This evening, Spurs face an incredibly important challenge against Marseille. A point earns qualification, a win sees them win the group.

But defeat to Marseille, leaves them in danger of missing out on the Champions League group stages. Mathieu Valbuena has spoken about how he is confident his old side can knock “brittle” Tottenham out of the competition.

GFFN have now posted a video on Twitter from a source that shows the fireworks being let off outside the hotel. The video shows a 46-second clip of a constant stream of fireworks, before cutting out. It might have been a lot longer.

The report prior to the video being published shares that Tottenham players were kept awake. The fireworks did their job. But as Tottenham players, surely such an act from their opponent’s fans would focus the Spurs squad?

Surely it will give the Tottenham players the desire and the anger to go out on Tuesday night and get a result. The determination to get one over Marseille and the French club’s fans. Spurs will be favourites to win the match.

Tottenham come into the match in good spirits, too. They came from 2-0 down to win on the weekend, while Marseille have now gone four games without a win – losing three of those and failing to beat Strasbourg.

Spurs will be without Cristian Romero, Deki Kulusevski and Richarlison for the match. Meanwhile, Marseille will have, perhaps, an underlying desire to beat Spurs because of the Arsenal connection – including, Alexis Sanchez.
