According to El Gol Digital, Leeds United are interested in signing Andres Guardado from Real Betis and are willing to spend as much as £5.2 million on the 31-year-old.
The Mexico international is a very versatile footballer who can operate as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder, left-winger or left-back, and securing the services of the former Valencia and Deportivo La Coruna star in the January transfer window will be a coup for Leeds.
While it remains to be seen if anything materialises, the way Guardado was presented at Real Betis last summer will surely amuse Gaetano Berardi… in a good way.
Leeds defender Berardi is a boxing fan, and the 29-year-old full-back recently accompanied Josh Warrington to the ring before the bout against Dennis Ceylan (click here to read more).
Back in July 2017, when Betis signed Guardado from Dutch club PSV, they presented him on social networking site Twitter like a prizefighter.
If Guardado has the same passion for boxing as Berardi, then the duo will get along well at Leeds.
