Much has been made about Raphinha and the impact he has made at Leeds United since his move last summer.

However, no one should forget that Leeds also signed Rodrigo from Valencia in the summer of 2020.

In fact, the Spain international was expected to be a bigger success at Elland Road than Raphinha.

Injuries and coronavirus issues affected the 30-year-old this season.

So much so that Rodrigo, who can play as a striker, winger or attacking midfielder, has been left out of Spain’s Euro 2020 squad.

However, Leeds Director of Football Victor Orta rates Rodrigo highly, and has suggested that the Spaniard is actually a level above the Whites.

Orta said on The Phil Hay Show on The Athletic: “Even Rodrigo can be more up than our level because we trust in our first season one signing like that for try harder to ensure the Premier League.”

Rodrigo did well in the final weeks of the season.

The Spain international scored goals and created chances, and he showed that he is good enough to play as a number 9 or as a number 10.

There is much more to come from the Spaniard, who scored seven goals and gave two assists in 14 Premier League starts this season.

Leeds will be a better team next season when Rodrigo starts to play week in and week out.
