Don Goodman has suggested to Sky Sports that Leeds United trio Raphinha, Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford all nearly made his Team of the Season.
Leeds did not have any entrants in Goodman’s Premier League XI, but that does not mean that they didn’t come close.
Plenty of Leeds’ players have impressed this term, and Goodman had to pick out three who really caught his eye.
“I have to give out some honourable mentions too. Kante at Chelsea – who just missed out by a whisker, the Leeds trio of Raphinha, Phillips, and Patrick Bamford who have all been really good,” he said.
Leeds certainly deserve the recognition for what has been a wonderful first season back in the top flight.
The Whites rounded their campaign off with a win over West Bromwich Albion yesterday, which saw them claim ninth spot.

The players who Goodman mentioned have not only been some of the stars of the show at Elland Road, but of the entire league.
Raphinha has to go down as one of the signings of the summer, after making a huge impact since his arrival.
Bamford, meanwhile, netted 17 goals – which is far beyond what most predicted from him, and Phillips looks almost certain to go to the European Championships with England, if he is deemed fit enough, such is the quality of his form for both club and country this year.
