Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi would be a ‘great signing’ for Newcastle United, as he told talkSPORT.
Newcastle are keen to bolster their forward line this summer, with Hudson-Odoi on their radar, as Agbonlahor labelled him as a ‘very talented player’.
Eddie Howe is targeting several wide players for his squad ahead of the new season, with Anthony Gordon, Hudson-Odoi and Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby on their transfer wishlist.

Diaby is the older of the two, whilst Hudson-Odoi plays at the higher level and has had more experience, especially in the more challenging games than the others.
Nonetheless, when Agbonlahor was told about the Magpies possibly signing Hudson-Odoi this summer, this is what he had to say.
“I think he’s a great signing,” said Agbonlahor. “But he’s another great player who probably wants to start playing more.
“In and out of the team, Sterling is coming in, he’s not going to get a chance this season. But a very talented player. He just needs to be playing games.
“Plus, it’s not looking like a nice place to go and play is St James’ Park. One of them trips that you are now looking at the calendar and you are going ‘oh no, we have to go to St James’ Park’.”

STERLING IN…HUDSON-ODOI OUT?
Even last season, Hudson-Odoi wasn’t a regular under Thomas Tuchel, so if Raheem Sterling signs, then it will probably reduce his game time even further.
The Manchester City winger is now edging closer to moving to Stamford Bridge, and you would expect, he walks straight into that left channel.
Plus, with Chelsea now under new ownership, more attacking faces could arrive, with Hudson-Odoi, at the age of 21, still developing in his career.
From Newcastle’s perspective and for someone like Howe, he would be a manager who likes to work with young players.
Plus, with the Magpies trying to build blocks for this long-term project, then someone like Hudson-Odoi does fit that bill.
